Tools to Stay Organized as an Ambitious Biz Babe
My clients, friends, family always compliment me, and even past teachers on how organized I am! Being organized is definitely a must-have quality for a service provider as it can be so easy to get overwhelmed and let things get out of hand. Here are different tools I use to stay organized in my business and just life in general!
Daily To Do Lists
I love this to-do list I found on Amazon! I brain dump here all my tasks for the day and appointments. The most important ones go up at the top as a non-negotiable. There are also spaces on this specific to-do list to track your meals and water for the day, plus what you are grateful for!
Weekly To Do Lists
This to-do list is from Amazon, too, and goes along with the daily one because I'm all about being matchy-matchy. I actually use this in two different ways. First, I use it like a columned Asana board, white out the days of the week, and put in my clients' names. I then write in all their tasks for the week that I need to get done. I also leave a column for my business and my personal tasks. Then I use another sheet with the days of the week to write down specific appointments. I usually do this on Friday or Sunday for the following week.
Colored Gel Pens
I am OBSESSED with these pens!! They are so bright and fun, and I’m all about making organizing and systems fun. I use a different pen color for each client and each type of task. This makes my lists so much more fun to look at and is essentially like a key for my lists.
Asana
I used to use Asana like my daily and weekly to-do lists, but I missed writing things down and highlighting them off too much! Now, I use Asana to keep track of the overarching themes in my client's and I’s business. I use the column feature and have important dates and tasks for the entire quarter. If I have this in the same place as my daily and weekly list, I get too lost thinking about tasks that aren’t as high of a priority.
Google Drive
I have folders, for folders, for folders in my Google Drive. I like to keep my “home page” clean with just a few folders and have everything categorized inside of them. I also color-code my folders and add emojis to the names to keep them fun and exciting!
Dubsado
Dubsado is my biz BFF. We hang out together every day, and she keeps me in check. I love Dubsado because it is so convenient having one safe place to keep my contracts, invoices, proposals, emails, etc. Doing it all in separate systems just gets too complicated and leaves more room for user error.
